In the bustling city of Perth, 2018 was the year that fate brought Mari and Hector together. Their first date was at the picturesque Hyde Park, a lush oasis in the heart of Perth. They picked up some delectable treats from the famous Chu Bakery nearby, and as they strolled through the park, Hector's curiosity led him to ask Mari numerous questions. Despite the initial jitters, Mari found herself feeling surprisingly comfortable around him. His genuine interest and warm demeanour put her at ease.

The second date was at City Beach, where the golden sands and crashing waves set the perfect scene. Mari wore her favorite striped clothes and a hat that day. The beach breeze was playful, and at one point, it mischievously snatched Mari's hat, sending it tumbling into the sea. They laughed as they chased after it, their laughter blending with the sound of the waves.

For their third date, Hector took Mari to Holey Moley, a quirky mini-golf bar in Perth. The competition was fierce, with Hector showcasing his skills and eventually winning the game. Mari couldn't help but admire his competitive spirit, even as she playfully teased him about his victory.

Their bond grew stronger with each date, and soon they planned their first daytrip together to Wave Rock. This time, they were joined by Mari's friend, Aiko. The trip was filled with adventure and laughter.

They climbed Frenchman's Peak together, and at the summit, with the world at their feet, they shared a kiss that seemed to seal their fate. It marked a significant milestone in their relationship.

However, in April 2019, Mari's working visa expired, and she had to move back to Japan. Despite the distance, their love remained steadfast. During this time, they met in the middle ground of Malaysia at Manoj's wedding. This was the first time Mari had met Hector's family.

On February 14th 2020, just before the international borders closed due to COVID, Mari flew back to Perth, reuniting with Hector.

In September 2020, they moved to Sydney after Hector's mother was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. They cherished the time they spent with her, and despite the sorrow of her passing on November 26th, 2020, they found solace in each other's company.

Their journey continued as they traveled around Australia for Hector's work, from Launceston to Bunbury, Kalgoorlie, Mt Isa, and finally to Newcastle. During their travels, they adopted a pet dog named Yuti, and officially became pawrents.

In December 2023, Hector's father, Freddy, traveled to Japan to meet Mari's family, including her mother, Kumiko, and her father, Fumio. During this meeting, Freddy and Kumiko conspired that they would meet at a wedding in 2024. They were right.

On their fifth anniversary, March 10th, 2024, Hector planned a special proposal at a private farm stay in South Australia. Under the shimmering sunlight by a tranquil lake, with Yuti providing a delightful distraction, Hector took out a hand-made Japanese ring and asked Mari to marry him. Mari didn't see it coming. With tears of joy, Mari said "Yes!".... and here we are.
